A series of 16 selected patients with humeral shaft fractures were operated on using the Seidel interlocking nail. At the follow-up 5.5 months later, solid union was obtained in 13 of the 14 survivors. In these 13 patients the result was classified as excellent or good, even though impingement was seen in four patients; no other complications were encountered.
