To study the method of treating hemifacial atrophy with free serratus muscle flap.
Three patients diagnosed as having serious hemifacial atrophy was treated with free serratus muscle flap. The root of the flap was thoracodorsal artery and thoracodorsal vein, which was anastomosed with superficial temporal artery and vein, facial artery and vein, lingual artery and vein, and so on. During the operation, long thoracic nerve was dissected and anastomosed with facial nerve. The sizes of the flaps were 12 cm x 8 cm - 16 cm x 12 cm.
All free-muscle flaps healed well after the transplant. The face and buccal area looked chubby and rounded. There were no obvious protuberance and discontentment on the buccal area. The shoulders of all patients moved well. The facial contour of the patients recovered well during the follow-up period (1-3 years).
The method has a good result. The long-term effect needs further study.
探讨游离背阔肌肌瓣治疗半侧颜面萎缩的方法。
对3例诊断为重度半侧颜面萎缩的患者采用游离背阔肌肌瓣治疗。肌瓣蒂部为胸背动静脉，与颞浅动静脉、面动静脉、舌动静脉等吻合。术中解剖出胸长神经并与面神经吻合。肌瓣大小为12 cm×8 cm - 16 cm×12 cm。
所有游离肌瓣移植后愈合良好。面部及颊部外观丰满圆润。颊部无明显隆起及不满意之处。所有患者肩部活动良好。随访期间（1 - 3年）患者面部轮廓恢复良好。
该方法效果良好。长期效果有待进一步研究。
