The decision of when to order magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computerized tomography (CT) is often confusing to the practicing clinician. Dr. Sartoris illustrates the value of each technique, in dealing with pathologies of the lower extremities. He first discusses a representative clinical case, and then expands into various situations, where one or both of these modalities would be appropriate.
