The article discusses the results of treatment and the effect of rehabilitation of 169 patients with carcinoma of the rectum who underwent Duhamel's operation. The authors consider Duhamel's operation to be indicated in carcinoma of the superampullary and rectosigmoid parts of the rectum. They believe that the percentage of patients who resumed activity at the former place of work without expert medical assessment of their working capacity is the criterion of the efficacy of medical rehabilitation. The group of working persons came to 51%. The criterion of the efficacy of medical rehabilitation was 39.4%.
