Efferent methods of detoxication used in complex therapy of 20 patients with sepsis included extracorporeal connection of the donor spleen, plasmapheresis, associated use of plasmapheresis with the substitution of exfused plasma of the patient by different solutions preliminarily perfused through the xenogeneic spleen. The detoxifying and immunostimulating effects were estimated during the first seven days after the extracorporeal detoxication. Most pronounced laboratory and clinical effects were observed after an associated use of plasmapheresis and perfusates of the xenogeneic spleen.
