In order to determine the optimal method of patient care, the patient's existing clinical condition must be accurately diagnosed and treatment objectives (eg, biocompatibility, aesthetics, long-term function) established accordingly. Once analysis of the condition is complete, the correct restorative procedure can be selected and the complications presented by the patient can be addressed. Comprehensive radiographic and clinical examinations are integral in determining the preoperative status of the patient and, consequently, in evaluating the possibility of actually achieving a successful rehabilitation.
