We studied the interaction between the sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of the autonomic nervous system in the regulation of smooth muscles in the femoral artery and trachea. It was shown that this regulation involves ganglionic serotoninergic neurons transmitting excitation to 5-HT, receptors in the effector tissues.
