PURPOSE
The purposes of this pilot study were to determine which replacement therapy group would be most appropriate for exploring the concept of choice and to refine the research question.
METHODS
This exploratory, descriptive study used a phenomenological method.
RESULTS
Four themes were derived: (1) uncertainty of long-term health, (2) lack of choice, (3) no memory of making a choice, and (4) lack of information about renal replacement therapies.
CONCLUSIONS
No participant remembered actually making a choice regarding their renal replacement therapies.

本试点研究的目的是确定哪个替代治疗组最适合探索选择的概念，并完善研究问题。
