The medicine of today has been evaluated as the inheritance of the Mediterranean civilization of which fundamental sources date back even to the Sumerian and the Mesopotamian medicine. It is necessary to start with those ancient cultures for researching historically the adventure of medicinal drugs utilized in medicine at present. As a matter of fact, on the basis of the pharmaceutical books it was referred to, the research of mandragore's use in medicine throughout the history serves as a good example to that aim.
当今的医学被视为地中海文明的传承，其根源甚至可以追溯到苏美尔和美索不达米亚医学。为了从历史角度研究目前医学中使用的药物的发展历程，有必要从这些古老文化入手。事实上，基于所参考的药学书籍，对曼陀罗在医学史上的应用研究就是实现这一目标的一个很好的例子。
