Abstract

Gliomas are tumors of the white matter. They are usually located deep within the skull and extend into the basal ganglia, though some are found near the surface of the brain. Calvarial erosion is known to occur with some superficially located tumors, mostly oligodendrogliomas. Only 1 case of low-grade astrocytoma causing calvarial erosion has been reported in the literature of the CT era. We report the first case of a low-grade astrocytoma causing calvarial erosion in an adolescent.

摘要

胶质瘤是白质肿瘤。它们通常位于颅骨深处并延伸至基底神经节，不过有些位于脑表面附近。已知一些浅表性肿瘤（主要是少突胶质细胞瘤）会发生颅骨侵蚀。在CT时代的文献中，仅报道过1例低级别星形细胞瘤引起颅骨侵蚀的病例。我们报告首例青少年低级别星形细胞瘤引起颅骨侵蚀的病例。
