To study the role of fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in the diagnosis of cutaneous and subcutaneous endometriosis.
We present 7 cases of endometriosis in abdominal wall, inguinal region and perineum diagnosed by FNAC. All cases were confirmed with histologic follow-up. Cytologic and histologic material was prepared using standard methods.
The smears were highly cellular, showing a hemorrhagic background with hemosiderin-laden macrophages and sheets of epithelial and stromal cells. Occasionally, these cellular components were closely associated.
FNAC is useful in the diagnosis of cutaneous and subcutaneous endometriosis, providing a rapid and accurate preoperative diagnosis.
研究细针穿刺细胞学检查(FNAC)在皮肤及皮下子宫内膜异位症诊断中的作用。
我们呈现了7例经FNAC诊断为腹壁、腹股沟区及会阴子宫内膜异位症的病例。所有病例均经组织学随访证实。采用标准方法制备细胞学和组织学材料。
涂片细胞丰富,呈现出血性背景,可见含铁血黄素巨噬细胞以及成片的上皮细胞和间质细胞。偶尔,这些细胞成分紧密相连。
FNAC对皮肤及皮下子宫内膜异位症的诊断有用,可提供快速准确的术前诊断。
