By taking a strategic approach to implementing a public health focus to midwifery practice, the authors aim to help midwives address life circumstances as part of mainstream maternity services and implement evidence-based care to support vulnerable families. The authors hope these initiatives demonstrate increased referral to multi-professional and multi-agency colleagues and therefore tailored and seamless services for women and families.
