The cycle-to-cycle variability of the period duration (jitter) and the period amplitude (shimmer) are measures for the micro-instability of vocal fold vibrations. A short survey is presented of the definition of jitter and shimmer, a number of calculation methods, the normal values, and the effects of age and voice pathology.
周期时长的逐周期变异性（抖动）和周期幅度的逐周期变异性（闪烁）是衡量声带振动微不稳定性的指标。本文简要介绍了抖动和闪烁的定义、一些计算方法、正常值以及年龄和嗓音病理学的影响。
