[Periorbicular trichophyton verrucosum infections].

Three patients with periorbicular infections by Trichophyton verrucosum are described. This type of fungal infection is much less common as compared to the usual kerion formation. The main characteristics of Trichophyton verrucosum and of the epidemiology and clinical course of infections with Trichophyton verrucosum are summarized. In this condition the identification of the causative agent as well as the therapeutic regimen chosen to eliminate fungal growth deserve careful attention.
