Palpation and auscultation of the arteries at standard locations permit a simple and noninvasive method of obtaining important findings. Often a clinical diagnosis is possible with this method alone. The localization of vascular occlusions and stenoses can be very exactly pinpointed. For unclearfindings, the Doppler pressure measurement, function tests and the Allen test can provide confirmation.
