[Quality assurance after the Health Reform Legislation].

The German Health Insurance Reform including a recodified legislation on sickness insurance, is often mainly discussed from the viewpoint of cost reduction. But the reform also creates important incentives to safeguard the quality of health care. A description of the quality assurance system based on the German statutory sickness insurance is given and completed by references to practical approaches to attain the political goals.
