A decrease of tuberculosis is noticeable. The legal basis and topics of the tuberculosis health service are shown. Focal points of counseling and care are particular groups of patients: foreigners, homeless, elderly, patients not accepting the disease, ones with social and financial difficulties, alcoholics. The successful treatment of the diseases requires the confirmed efforts of physician and social worker. An important role is played by the public health service. Considerations concerning the extension of the topics to other groups of patients such as asthmatics, ones with diseases of the respiratory tract and allergics are developed. Experiences of the former GDR are available. Coherencies of AIDS and tuberculosis are shown.
