To examine the transmission of hepatitis B virus in families of carriers of hepatitis B surface antigen epidemiologic and serologic data were obtained on 209 household contacts of 106 carriers. 97 relatives (46.4%) showed signs of infection, 39 became chronic carriers too. Brothers and sisters are at the highest risk of infection within the families. Household contacts of chronic carriers should be considered a high-priority group to receive the hepatitis B vaccine.
为研究乙型肝炎病毒在乙肝表面抗原携带者家庭中的传播情况，我们获取了106名携带者的209名家庭接触者的流行病学和血清学数据。97名亲属（46.4%）出现感染迹象，39人也成为慢性携带者。兄弟姐妹在家庭中感染风险最高。慢性携带者的家庭接触者应被视为接种乙肝疫苗的高优先级人群。
