Although word processing has become an accepted business function for many office professionals, physicians have been slow to recognize the many uses that it has to offer. The physician's office can achieve greater productivity and efficiency by the integration of word processing into both the clerical and clinical sectors of medical practice. The task begins with an organization of professional communications and is developed based on the needs of an individual practice.
