Most cases of severe nasal bleeding are treated by anterior and posterior packing of the nose. The permanence of the packing makes necessary an antibiotic therapy and sedation of restless patients. Extraction of the packs may lead to new bleedings from original vessel, but also from granulation tissue which may grow onto the nasal pack. The present paper offers an alternative treatment of severe nasal bleeding with the monopolar coagulation under endoscopic control, avoiding anterior and posterior nasal packing.
