Vascular leiomyoma (angioleiomyoma) of the nasal cavity is an extremely rare tumour. Following a thorough review of relevant literature, we found that such tumours are more common in females. Only 4 of 30 reported cases have been found in male patients. Moreover, considering the site of the lesion within the nasal cavity, only 3 of these 30 cases originated from the nasal vestibule. Hereby, we present a case of vascular leiomyoma arising specifically from the floor of the nasal vestibule in a 68-year-old man, which is unique because it combines the specific tumour localization with the patient's gender.
The patient was treated surgically. The tumour was completely removed through an intraoral incision.
This is the first reported case of vascular leiomyoma arising from the floor of the nasal vestibule affecting a male patient.
