[Anterior vitrectomy in the treatment of post-traumatic defects of the eye].

The authors analyse the results of 116 operations in which they performed anterior vitrectomy using the Berkeley's and Opticon vitrectomes. Operations of this type have been performed in cases of traumatic cataract, subluxated and luxated lenses. One removed also post-inflammatory membranes and the vitreous from the anterior chamber and from the area of the wound. The functional and anatomical results have to be acknowledged as satisfactory.
