Recent results on respiratory muscle function are reviewed, with special regard to the muscle fatigue theory of respiratory failure. In this respect diagnostic measures and clinical symptoms are reported. Therapy is directed to reduce the work of respiratory muscles and temporarily rest them. Within this special role is given to the treatment with respirator and positive pressure breathing.
本文综述了呼吸肌功能的近期研究成果，特别关注呼吸衰竭的肌肉疲劳理论。在这方面，报告了诊断措施和临床症状。治疗旨在减少呼吸肌的工作并使其暂时休息。在这一特殊作用中，呼吸器和正压呼吸治疗被赋予了重要地位。
