The progressive decrease of the frequency of tuberculous meningitis in children will lead in the near future to the elimination of this type of localization, as a result of elimination of chronic focuses, achieved by strictly supervised treatment. The rare cases observed in the last years are due either to well-established contacts (parents, grandparents, neighbours), or to sporadic or even unique contacts with chronic cases.
