Testicular torsion is a rare pathology in adults. While it generally develops as a consequence of certain congenital abnormalities in pediatric and adolescent patients, the exact mechanism in adults remains unclear.
A 57-year-old man initially diagnosed with right epididiymal cyst, when presented with severe right-sided scrotal pain six months later, was found to have a 720-degree right testicular torsion on surgical exploration.
Testicular torsion should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute scrotum, regardless of patient age. We report a case of testicular torsion in the elderly patient, which may offer a contribution to the literature regarding the etiology of adult testicular torsion.
睾丸扭转在成人中是一种罕见的病症。虽然在儿童和青少年患者中，它通常是由某些先天性异常导致的，但成人的确切发病机制仍不清楚。
一名57岁男性最初被诊断为右侧附睾囊肿，6个月后出现严重的右侧阴囊疼痛，手术探查发现右侧睾丸扭转720度。
无论患者年龄如何，在急性阴囊的鉴别诊断中都应考虑睾丸扭转。我们报告了一例老年患者的睾丸扭转病例，这可能为有关成人睾丸扭转病因的文献提供资料。
