The purpose of this study was to determine the antimicrobial efficacy of sodium hypochlorite adjusted to pH 12, 7.5, and 6.5 in human root canals infected by Enterococcus faecalis.
One hundred sixty-five human single-rooted teeth were prepared and inoculated with E. faecalis for 48 h. Teeth were divided into 3 experimental groups according to the irrigation pattern used: group 1, 4.2% NaOCl pH 12; group 2, 4.2% NaOCl pH 7.5; and group 3, 4.2% NaOCl pH 6.5. Samples from the root canals were collected, and bacterial growth was analyzed by turbidity of the culture medium.
None of the irrigating solutions used in this study demonstrated 100% effectiveness against E. faecalis. The antibacterial effectiveness of 4.2% NaOCl at pH 6.5 was significantly increased (P = .03) compared with 4.2% NaOCl at pH 12 (chi-squared test: P < .05).
Bactericidal activity of NaOCl solution is enhanced by weak acidification of 4.2% NaOCl solution at pH 6.5.
本研究旨在确定pH值分别为12、7.5和6.5的次氯酸钠对粪肠球菌感染的人根管的抗菌效果。
165颗人单根牙经过预备并接种粪肠球菌48小时。根据冲洗方式将牙齿分为3个实验组:第1组,4.2%次氯酸钠,pH值12;第2组,4.2%次氯酸钠,pH值7.5;第3组,4.2%次氯酸钠,pH值6.5。收集根管样本,通过培养基的浊度分析细菌生长情况。
本研究中使用的任何一种冲洗液对粪肠球菌均未表现出100%的有效性。与pH值12的4.2%次氯酸钠相比,pH值6.5的4.2%次氯酸钠的抗菌效果显著提高(P = .03)(卡方检验:P < .05)。
pH值6.5时对4.2%次氯酸钠溶液进行弱酸处理可增强其杀菌活性。
