Abstract

Despite their fundamental role in host defense, many components of epithelial and endothelial tight junctions serve as viral receptors. In this issue of Cell Host & Microbe, Antar et al. (2009) provide striking in vivo evidence that the broadly expressed reovirus receptor JAM-A plays a specific role in reovirus dissemination.
