Abstract

Developing a position of strength requires greater numbers of providers, often consolidated as legal structures traditionally not typical of small medical practices and other healthcare entities in the United States. This article addresses market stresses that are causing physicians to move from positions of autonomy to arrangements in which responsibility can be shared with other providers. It offers ways to identify and evaluate the appropriate affiliation model for your practice and market area.
