Abstract
A cell transformation assay may be an in vitro assay measuring the phenotypic conversion from normal to malignant characteristics in Balb/c 3T3 cells exposed to test chemicals, and capable of detecting carcinogens. In this article, the progress and improvement of Balb/c 3T3 cells transformation assay, and its applications in the detection of tumor initiator and promoter were reviewed.
