The introduction of triptans in the treatment of migraine was apparently a revolution.Comparative randomised trials do not, however, show a clearcut picture.Oral triptans outperform oral ergotamine most because of the extremely low (< 1%) oral bioavailability of ergotamine. Compared with NSAIDs, triptants are not, in most cases, superior to aspirin. Aspirin is suggested as first-choice drug in migraine treatment. An additional advantage of aspirin is that is it much less expensive than triptans.
曲坦类药物用于偏头痛治疗显然是一场变革。然而，对比随机试验并未呈现出清晰的结果。口服曲坦类药物大多比口服麦角胺效果好，这主要是因为麦角胺的口服生物利用度极低（<1%）。与非甾体抗炎药相比，在大多数情况下，曲坦类药物并不优于阿司匹林。阿司匹林被建议作为偏头痛治疗的首选药物。阿司匹林的另一个优势是其价格比曲坦类药物便宜得多。
