After a description of this disease, the authors report on a clinical case they observed, and the evolution of this case over a period of time. In analysing this case and comparing the data reported in the literature, we want to underline the high degree of virulence in this disease over a period of time, due to the frequency of the development of chronic cases. We would like to point out that surgeons should rely on surgical procedures and a new decompression technique rather than relying on pharmacological therapy, as the best way of definitively resolving a chronic stasis. This is particularly important in acute manifestations of the disease where the limb is in serious danger.
