[Crohn disease in siblings].

The familial occurrence of Crohn's disease has attracted increasing interest. Among 32 cases of histologically verified Crohn's disease a sister and brother were found with clinical symptoms dating from the age of 15 and 18 years respectively. In both cases resection of the terminal ileum was performed to alleviate serious and acute gastrointestinal manifestations. Studies of the literature further emphasize the familial occurrence of Crohn's disease and the need for pertinent evaluation of family history in these patients.
