To describe a patient with dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the spermatic cord and to perform a bibliographic review.
We describe the case of a patient with dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the spermatic cord, and conducted an extensive search of literature in different databases that support the discussion of the case.
A 65 years old male presented a right scrotal mass with progressive growth, and underwent excision of the mass (measured 34 x 22 x 17 cm and weighed 5786 grams). Pathology reported dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the spermatic cord. This patient draws attention to the reoccurrence of papillary thyroid cancer.
Paratesticular tumors are rare entities, derived from mesenchymal tissue. Most of them are benign, but up to 30% could be of sarcomatoid type. Their treatment is based on the extraction of the mass along with radical orchiectomy, but being a very rare disease is not clear whether the benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy in these patients is beneficial.
