A greater number of gay males, lesbians, and bisexual females or males (GLB) are "coming out" during adolescence. Discussion includes nursing implications.
The purpose of this paper is to review the process of GLB disclosure, highlight the trend toward earlier outing, and discuss its implications for nursing practice.
Sources include scholarly published literature, professional organization documents, and GLB advocacy publications.
Nurses need to update their knowledge of coming-out issues, as well as nondisclosing sexual behavior, to assess youth and family needs and direct care appropriately.

资料来源包括学术出版文献、专业组织文件以及GLB宣传出版物。
