To describe and compare the skin diseases in elderly attended at the geriatric service with those attended at the dermatology service.
The study was carried out on 100 elderly patients attended at the geriatrics service of nonskin disease and 100 elderly patients attended at the dermatology service. The sampling was of consecutive cases. Skin phototype and photo-aging were determined. The type and frequency of the dermatosis were described.
All the patients presented at least one dermatosis with an average of five lesions. There was no difference between the main dermatologic causes for consultation in either service. The most frequent phototype was type IV, and when it was correlated with the degree of photo damage measured with the Glogau scale, it was type III. In relation to dermatoses that require treatment we found: actinic keratitis, onychatrophia, xerosis, prurigo and vasculocutaneous complex. The most frequent dermatose found on physical exam were: solar lentigos, seborrheic keratitis, Favre-Racouchot disease, cherry angiomas, guttata hypomelanosis.
Elderly patients attended at the geriatric and dermatology services presented similar skin diseases.

所有患者至少有一种皮肤病，平均有五种皮损。两个科室主要的皮肤科咨询原因无差异。最常见的光型是IV型，当与用Glogau量表测量的光损伤程度相关联时，为III型。关于需要治疗的皮肤病，我们发现：光化性角膜炎、甲萎缩、皮肤干燥、痒疹和血管皮肤综合征。体格检查中最常见的皮肤病是：日光性雀斑、脂溢性角化病、法夫尔-拉库肖病、樱桃状血管瘤、点状色素减退症。
在老年科和皮肤科就诊的老年患者患有相似的皮肤病。
