Thin film optical coatings. 4: Multilayer antireflection coatings.

Conditions are indicated whereby the antireflective function can be extended to coatings comprising any number of thin layers. This property is obtained by addition of two supplementary layers, the optical characteristics of which are calculated in the present paper. Conditions for the existence of solutions are obtained by generalization of the solution existence diagram concerning two layers.
