Leishmania major, the cause of human zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis, is a widely distributed parasite in the Old World. Here, we report the isoenzyme characterization of two human isolates obtained from Egyptians who never travelled abroad. The two isolates were L. major equivalent to zymodene Lond I.
