Alaska Med. 1991 Jan-Mar;33(1):29-33.
Dental care in the Soviet Far East was compared to dental care in Alaska. Observations and data supported differences in dental services between the two areas. Dental prevention lacked fluoridated water and services were provided with outdated equipment from U.S. standards. The Dental Health Group focused its observations on five topic areas: administration, the delivery of dental services, health promotion and disease prevention, environmental and safety standards and research. The information presented in this report represents a compilation of the results of the interviews and observations of the members of the Dental Health Group.
