Complications of lesser metatarsal surgery are the result of inappropriate procedure choice, poor surgical technique, inadequate fixation, or a lack of patient compliance. Postoperative complications include transfer lesions, malunion, delayed union, nonunion, displacement of fixation devices, and resultant digital contracture. Despite good results with treatment of tailor's bunion deformities, results of osteotomies of the central three metatarsals are inconsistent. Conservative care is preferred for treatment of plantar hyperkeratoses.
较小跖骨手术的并发症是手术方式选择不当、手术技术欠佳、固定不充分或患者依从性差的结果。术后并发症包括转移性病变、畸形愈合、延迟愈合、不愈合、固定装置移位以及由此导致的趾挛缩。尽管治疗裁缝拇囊炎畸形效果良好，但中央三根跖骨截骨术的结果并不一致。跖部角化过度的治疗首选保守治疗。
