Long-term care insurance has not sold well in the United States. The issues are cost, complex financial problems, uncertainty about inflation, and concerns about the future of health care in general. The heart of the problem may well be that this insurance does not cover the relevant risk, and a solution is suggested in Section 6 of this article.
