Abstract

In long-term care facilities, mealtime should be an important and exciting event that residents and staff look forward to three times a day. Providing residents with a homelike, pleasant dining atmosphere should promote socialization, enhance awareness, and increase appetites, thereby improving the residents' quality of life. This paper discusses the subtle but strong influence that the environment has in preparing residents for eating. Environmental factors that promote a positive mealtime experience are discussed.

在长期护理机构中,用餐时间应该是一件重要且令人期待的事情,住客和工作人员每天都盼望着这三餐时刻。为住客提供一个如家般温馨宜人的用餐氛围,有助于促进社交、增强意识并增进食欲,从而提升住客的生活质量。本文探讨了环境在让住客做好进食准备方面所产生的微妙却强大的影响。文中还讨论了有助于营造积极用餐体验的环境因素。
