Dentists may find partial denture design difficult. This is often due to lack of educational experience. Removable partial dentures (RPDs) are one-off prosthodontic solutions that require proper assessment, planning and preparation, combined with effective design. This article revisits the principles of RPD design.

CLINICAL RELEVANCE

One in six people in Britain have some form of RPD. Many of these are unworn. For future well-being of patients, improvement in RPD provision is essential.
