Abstract
The present knowledge of the enteropathogenic characteristics of Escherichia coli (adhesion and toxinogenesis) is reviewed in the calf, and compared with piglet data. A pathogenic model of E. coli diarrhoea in the calf is proposed, taking into account the electromyographic, bacteriologic and physiologic data.
