[Purpose of a poison information center].

The purpose of the paper was presentation of Poison Information Centre aim, which is: the first--toxicological information service for doctors and other peoples, the second--creation and completing toxicological data base from scientific literature and our clinical experiences. Analysis of information centre documentation showed great increase of information number from 500 information yearly in 60th years to 1500 information now. The main cause of poisoning are drugs and most frequency question is "what is the treatment of any poisoning". Presently, Cracow Toxicological Information Centre uses of IBM computer, which rapidly increased of our data bank and improved of finding of proper information.
