[Current aspects in the diagnosis of spondylodiscitis].

New aspects regarding the diagnosis of spondylodiscitis are shown by means of the casuistics of a severe immobilizing lumbar syndrome. In this special case only the MR-examination was able to make clear the diagnosis, at a time when all other diagnostic methods failed. The MR-examination was taken as primary and progressive diagnostic method and it also decided about therapeutic consequences.
