The title complex, [Ni(4)(C(36)H(40)N(2)O(2))(2)(OH)(4)(C(3)H(9)OP)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2C(4)H(10)O·2C(3)H(9)OP·2H(2)O, is centrosymmetric with a central core that can be described as a defect double cubane. The four metal ions in the cluster are held together by four bridging hydroxide groups. Each Ni(II) atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry.
