The title compound, [Ir(C(12)H(8)NO)Cl(2)(C(12)H(9)NO)]·CH(2)Cl(2), which was obtained from the reaction of iridium(III) chloride trihydrate and 2-benzoyl-pyridine, contains an Ir(III) atom coordinated by two N, one O, one C and two Cl atoms in trans positions, forming a distorted octa-hedral environment. The solvent molecule CH(2)Cl(2) is disordered over two positions with an occupancy of 0.8:0.2.
标题化合物[Ir(C₁₂H₈NO)Cl₂(C₁₂H₉NO)]·CH₂Cl₂由三水合氯化铱(III)与2-苯甲酰基吡啶反应制得，其中一个Ir(III)原子由两个N原子、一个O原子、一个C原子和两个处于反位的Cl原子配位，形成一个扭曲的八面体环境。溶剂分子CH₂Cl₂在两个位置上无序分布，占有率为0.8:0.2。
