The finding of an ascites in in- or out-patients in inner medicine is relatively frequent. However, the differential diagnosis sometimes extends in rarer pathologies which need rapid investigations to begin a treatment and improve the patient's prognosis. We present the case of a 50-year-old patient with a progressive ascites in the context of a peritoneal carcinosis due to a malignant peritoneal mesothelioma.
