Prenatal care at Windham Hospital: a culturally sensitive approach to reducing health-care disparities and improving patient outcomes.

To achieve successful outcomes, health care is best provided within a context that is sensitive to patients' culturalvalues. The health-care providers' cultural competency also plays a significant role in reducing health disparities. We describe the care provided by the Windham Hospital prenatal clinic as one example of culturally sensitive health care with the overall goal of reducing health disparities and improving patient outcomes.
