[Neuro-psychological disorders in middle-aged industrial workers].

Mass clinico-epidemiological screening of workers of senior ages (of 45 years of age and over) was carried out at one of the large industrial enterprises. As a result of the new data were obtained on the genuine prevalence and clinico-dynamic structure of neuropsychic disorders revealed in the test group of the capable population. The authors identified risk factors of the development of the indicated diseases, defined the characteristic features of social and work adaptation of the patients during work and their needs in different types of psychiatric assistance; elaborated the principles of the prophylaxis and early diagnosis of neuropsychic disorders in the senior age group of industrial workers as well as those of rehabilitation of such patients under the conditions where the treatment is brought nearer to the production site or carried out within the system of the general medical network rather than under the conditions of a dispensary. The programs of the primary and secondary prophylaxis tried and implemented at one of the large industrial enterprises of Tomsk on the basis of the Center for Mental Health Care made it possible to minimize temporary disability caused by neuropsychic disorders among the senior age workers, to raise the patients' output per man-hour and work quality, to decrease the number of patients' dismissals from the enterprise.
